We have a great preschool program for 3 and 4 year old children. Everyone involved with our preschool has a real understanding of the children they teach. Our preschool program has been designed to meet the needs of our students while working in partnership with our parents! In an atmosphere of love, joy and peace, our preschoolers are busily and happily getting to experience success as they begin their academic careers.
AGE REQUIREMENT
It is our desire to provide an enriching and successful preschool environment for your 3-year-old. To help us ensure that success your child will need to be 3 years old by the first day of school to enroll in our Preschool program for 3-year-olds. All students must be fully-potty trained. Children entering the 4-year-old Preschool program must be 4 years old by the first day of school.
KINDER-READINESS TESTING
Before each child enters Kindergarten, a test will be administered to the child to determine if the he or she is ready for Kindergarten. The tests are scheduled individually at the end of May and at different times during the summer.
CURRICULUM
Each class uses a variety of Christian-based curriculum. In our Preschool program, the primary curriculum we use is A Beka. Also, we supplement with Bob Jones, Scholastic, Hands on Bible, Saxon, Group, and Wright Publishing.
COURSES
Shoreline Christian School is an academically based where basic courses like math, phonics, letter and sound recognition are taught. However, we also begin each day with Prayer and Bible and we attend Chapel every Friday. Students will also learn Spanish, Computer Lab, PE/Music and art.
BARNABAS BUDDIES
One of our special weekly activities is our Barnabus Buddies Reading Program. Our Preschool and Kindergarten children are partnered up with older students who visit once a week to read with them. Not only do they gain a love for reading, but they learn to love and appreciate children older and younger than themselves.
