Threes Program

Threes Program

Everyday Shoreline

The children enjoy a smooth transition to the group activities planned for the day. Circle time introduces literacy concepts, informal lessons that include the letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Science is introduced with a weather discussion and oral language is enhanced with children sharing personal reflections. The class keeps a steady schedule of balanced learning and play throughout the morning. They enjoy P.E. and outdoor gross motor development every day. After a nutritious lunch and a well-needed nap, our children explore the learning centers that are teacher-prepared to further teach the monthly theme. We incorporate art and music throughout the day.

Curriculum Goals

  • Our three year old program is enhanced with the Doors to Discovery Curriculum
  • The Hands-on Bible Curriculum is taught every day as songs and verses are reinforced
  • Creative art is included daily in learning centers that teach math, reading enjoyment, science, dramatic play, block building, manipulatives, and language games
  • The teacher uses both teacher-guided and child-initiated activities to teach new skills
  • The monthly theme allows for vocabulary expansion and for thinking skills to develop
  • Self-help skills are encouraged to help children become proficient at daily routines

The Classroom

  • The room is designed to facilitate both group and individual learning, offering areas of active and quiet play to meet the needs of each child
  • Lots of natural light and large windows help children apply science skills and observe the natural surroundings
  • Each child has a cubby, designed to promote independence in caring for their personal things
  • Welcoming circle time prepares children for school readiness

What Matters Most

  • Other than time in PE and a short time with an Aide, your child spends the school day with the primary teacher
  • Teachers organize and schedule activities for consistency and comfort of the children
  • The teacher communicates to you in a daily folder and is accessible via email or phone to convey important information to you
  • Learning takes place as children are nurtured and guided in God’s love
