Everyday Shoreline
The children transition to a structured morning that incorporates community time together. This circle time is used to informally introduce literacy and early math concepts, music, rhythm, and to discuss the Bible lesson. Centers compliment the small group opportunities to continue learning about the monthly theme. Students balance out their day with morning P.E. and outdoor play to develop gross motor skills. This class eats together in the lunchroom and prepares for a daily rest time. Afternoons start with music and a nutritious snack. This class completes the day with plenty of center play and art activities to create. Chapel is held every Friday morning.
Curriculum Goals
- Letter and sound recognition take center stage to build language and literacy skills using DLM Express Curriculum
- A foundation of math is reinforced daily with number sense, counting, sorting, and matching
- Centers also teach science, social skills in dramatic play, creative art, and refine fine motor skills
- Bible is built-in the day with songs, prayer and stories (Hands-On Bible Curriculum)
- Our program is geared to meet all social and emotional competencies recommended for kindergarten preparedness
The Classroom
- The four year olds are provided with a rich learning environment that allows self-exploration and small group activities
- The teacher guides small group activities at the horseshoe table and enjoys reading to students from the rocking chair
- Our spacious classroom provides areas of both quiet and active play, large windows to let in the natural light, and a large rug to comfortably enjoy community activities, songs, and play

- Other than time in PE and a short time with an Aide, your child spends the school day with the primary teacher
