Our weekly Barnabas Buddies Program is one of the best things we do! Students in our older classes partner with younger students for a variety of high interest activities.
- We see the students develop strong relationships students across the age groups!
- Each group of reinforces the sense of worth in the other!
- They also develop a real sense of responsibility for caring for the needs of others!
- The older students develop great leadership skills!
Barnabas Buddies is a funny name. Why is it called that?
A particular man in the early church earned the nickname Barnabas, which means “Son of Encouragement.” After Saul was saved on the road to Damascus, the church leaders paired him up with Barnabas for the work of the ministry. We wonder if Saul ever would have become the Paul who wrote most of the New Testament had he not worked closely with Barnabas in the beginning. In much the same way, our Barnabas Buddies program encourages strong growth for all students involved!
